We would like to make you aware that HMRC has written to 3,000 employers who may need to repay some or all of their Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) claim.
As HMRC may not copy in your accountant, if you receive such a letter and are a client of Torgersens, you will need to notify us. If you are not a client but require help or advice, please get in touch.
Businesses that could receive this letter are:
- Those that may have claimed more CJRS grant than their entitlement
- Those that may not have met the eligibility criteria (for example by including ineligible employees)
The letter requests that the business reviews its CJRS claim and to get in contact with HMRC. Please note that this is regardless of whether you think a mistake has been made or not.
If you have received such a letter from HMRC and would like us to help, please email in the first instance: enquiries@torgersens.com.
