A big welcome to our two new colleagues, Paul Guthrie and Jessica Minchella.
Paul’s role is Personal Tax Senior, based at our Sunderland office. Having originally trained as a journalist working for the Hartlepool Mail, Paul decided on a significant career change and made a move into the world of tax.
Paul was keen to join a practice with firm roots in the North East and was impressed by Torgersen’s ambition to grow whilst still staying true to its local heritage.
When asked what he thought of his new role, Paul said, ‘Everybody has been extremely welcoming from the moment I arrived. There are a great mix of personalities and a vibrant atmosphere around the office and our people are very supportive of one another which I think is great. I have also had the opportunity to do some really interesting work for clients having taken on a wide and varied portfolio.’
Outside of work, Paul enjoys days out with his wife and three children, keeping fit and going to the gym. A keen runner, he is currently training for a marathon.
We are also very pleased to welcome Business Services Trainee, Jessica Minchella, who is working with the team in the Sunderland office. Jessica’s role involves the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
Jessica was encouraged to apply to Torgersens’ because of the firm’s reputation and values. She is benefitting from the supportive work environment that has assisted her in gaining experience and helped her through her recent exams. Outside of work Jessica enjoys going to the gym and spending time with her family.
