From 25th September 2020, businesses and venues operating in specific sectors including hospitality, tourism, and hairdressing, must display a poster featuring the NHS QR code.

Businesses that currently have to collect customer details for NHS Track and Trace, are also now required to display an NHS QR code poster. These include:

hospitality services, including pubs, bars, restaurants, and cafés
tourism and leisure services, including hotels, museums, cinemas, and amusement arcades
close contact services, including hairdressers, barber shops and tailors
facilities provided by Local Authorities, including community centres, libraries, and village halls

The full list of organisations affected can be found here.

If a business that is visited by members of the public and has an indoor space where people congregate is not included in the listed categories, they are also encouraged to create a QR code poster for their entrance to that venue. Guidance on creating a code can be found here.
